The Good News of Easter
It’s amazing how, given the smallest opportunity, life can unravel. Diseases that have been long forgotten can return. Enemies that have been defeated can rebuild their forces. Attitudes, prejudices, and intolerances we believed to be finished begin taking hold in our culture again. At best, it makes us cynical; at worst, terrified. How can good win in a world where so much goes wrong? What can end the flood of destruction that sin has unleashed? To this, Jesus hung upon a cross and declared “It is finished!”
Reflection
What would you like to see God finish in your life? What sin would you have him conquer? What dream would you have him accomplish? Remember the words of your Savior, “It is finished!”
Prayer
Father, you have promised to finish the good work you have begun in me. Help me to receive this promise and trust in your goodness. Thank you that your love has come!

In all of the uncertainty that these days hold for humans, let’s be parents who point our kiddos hearts and minds to something that is certain. Please tell your kiddos that their Toddler teachers miss them very much and we can’t wait to see them again.
If you have not had a chance to download the Bible App for Kids please take advantage of this scripturally sound and kid safe app for free.
In the weeks leading to Easter we will use this same lesson video. Don’t worry about watching it more than once or breaking it into segments of what your kid can sit through.
This resource gives lots of ways to reiterate the lesson taught today. Let’s used these resources to focus ours children’s hearts and minds on God during these days of uncertainty.
May we be proactive in spending time with our kids all while doing our best to point their thoughts to God during these days. At the end of this pandemic let’s avoid having regrets of wasted time.

Today’s story is about Jesus prayer in the garden before his crucifixion. His anxiety was high during these days and He wanted to talk to His Father. What a great reminder of how we need Christ during this time of uncertainty just like Jesus did.

The NEED TO KNOW this week is God’s Promise Is The Best Ever!
Family Activity:
Grab a piece of paper and something to draw with. Tell your family that together you are going to draw a picture of the best day you can imagine! Pass the paper around your family and have each person add something to the picture that would make it the best day ever.
Read this with your family:
There are a lot of fun things we could think of to make the Best Day Ever! While those are all great, there is one way we can be guaranteed to have the Best Day Ever. God has made sure of that by making us a special promise!
Long ago, God promised to make a way for us to be forgiven for all the wrong things we do. This promise came true when Jesus came to Earth, died on a cross, and rose from the dead. At Easter, we celebrate God’s promise to save us from our sins, which is the best promise ever!
Review Questions
What did God promise His people, the Israelites? (That He would save them from the mean Egyptians, that He would send someone/the perfect lamb to save them from their sins forever)
Why was this the best promise ever? (It saved everyone and fixed our friendship with God)
Did God keep His promise? (Yes) Yes! God always keeps His promises!
Memory Verse:
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

The Victory of Easter
The dying words of the famous composer Ludwig Van Beethoven were “Friends applaud, the comedy is over.” There is something haunting about these words. They reveal the insult of death. We know we are not made to die, and yet death comes like a mocking joke. No matter what we do or accomplish, death comes for us all, ignoring our will to go on, and insulting the lives we have lived. But love has come, and God will have the last laugh!
Reflection
What is it you fear most about death? What power do you believe it has over you? Lift your eyes to the cross and behold the Savior who defeated death once and for all!
Prayer
Father, help me to understand that this life is not the end. Remind me that, in Christ, I will live forever. I worship you, Jesus; for the cross and for taking the sting of death upon yourself. Thank you that your love has come!
