The NEED TO KNOW this week was Take off Stealing Put on Hard Work. Zacchaeus was a tax collector. He often took more money than he should. He was a thief. He wanted to see Jesus when he came through Jericho so he climbed a tree to see him better. Jesus saw him in the tree and told him to come down because he was going to have dinner with him at his house. How many of you are singing the song, “Zacchaeus was a wee little man”? Watch the video below about Zacchaeus.
There are times that stealing may seem like the fastest way to get what you want, but there is a better way! Sensei tells us the story of Zacchaeus in the book of Luke. We learn that we should take off stealing and put on hard work.
MEMORY VERSE for Hi-Yah! Series:
Ephesians 4:23-24 You must be made new in your hearts and in your thinking. Be that new person who was made to be like God, truly good and pleasing to Him.
