"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. Teach them diligently to your children—talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down, and when you rise."

—Deuteronomy 6:5-7

PARENT & CHILD DEDICATION COVENANT

  1. As a parent, I/we recognize that my child is a precious gift from God, and I/we give Him thanks for this incredible blessing. I/we acknowledge that my/our child was created by God and for His glory, and I/we publicly dedicate them back to Him for His purpose.

  2. I/we understand that true life and joy are found in loving God and walking in His ways (Psalm 16:11). With God’s help, I/we commit to shepherding my/our child, leading them to know and love the Lord.

  3. I/we pledge to grow in my/our own faith, seeking to love God with all my/our heart, soul, strength, and mind. I/we will make it a priority to spend time in His Word and in prayer, and I/we will actively participate in the worship services and programs designed for my/our spiritual growth.

  4. I/we commit to raising my/our child in the instruction of the Lord, using everyday moments as opportunities to teach them to view life through the lens of God’s truth. With patience and love, I/we will instill in them the Word of God, the character of Christ, and the joy of the Lord. I/we will make every effort to have them engaged in the church’s Kids Ministry, which partners with me/us in their spiritual formation.

  5. I/we will pray regularly for my/our child, asking that, by God’s grace, they will come to trust in Jesus Christ alone—for the forgiveness of their sins, for the fulfillment of His promises, and for eternal life. I/we pray that they will follow Jesus as Lord and live in obedience to His teachings.

  6. I/we commit to providing for my/our child’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs, trusting my/our heavenly Father for wisdom, love, and strength to serve them selflessly. I/we recognize that my/our role as a parent is not to seek fulfillment through my/our child, but to faithfully nurture and guide them in the love of Christ.
