BUILD FOR THE FUTURE

more space for the next generation

Restore is experiencing a wonderful problem as our children’s ministries continue to grow year after year. Our infants through 5th grade classes currently meet in 2,250 sf of space. They need more room as we continue to reach more families.

The good news is we have a solution:

We have an opportunity to make room for more children to hear the gospel every weekend. We are raising money to build out a new 5,000 sf Children’s wing at Restore.

This is more than just a new children’s wing. It’ll also expand our lobby footprint by adding 50% more space in our main foyer. This is another pinch point for our church between the services. It will also free up current children’s class areas to be used for huddles each weekend.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

FAQ

Why do we need more space?

Each weekend our children’s areas fill up especially during 1st service and now during 2nd service as well. This project will effectively double the number of children we can minister to at church each weekend.

How many children do churches our size typically minister to?

Churches our size (350-400 people each weekend) typically average 50-75 children each weekend. We are blessed with more children than average. We see between 85-110 children most weekends. That’s not including another 20-30 students in the house each weekend. We are blessed to have influence with lots of kids and students.

How will this affect kids check-in?

This will centralize our children drop off area. Right now parents drop infants and toddlers off in one area before walking their pre-K or 1st-5th grader across the lobby to another area. Now we will have a secure entry/exit point for all ministries infant-5th grade. Middle school will continue to meet upstairs.

How long will this project take?

This is a 4-6 week project. Once we break through the lobby walls it’ll move fast. We’ve already done much of the preliminary work (framing, electrical, and rough in plumbing).

I don’t have kids. Why should I give to this?

We are challenging everyone to give to this project because we are a church body with many children in the house. We have a legacy of sacrificing for the next generation and we want to build on that legacy. Many parents will give, but statistically those without little ones in the house have the most margin to give to something like this. Giving to something that won’t directly benefit us has a way of sanctifying our motives and hearts.

How much is this going to cost?

The total cost for the project is just over $100,000. This includes framing, electrical, plumbing, new doors, new flooring, paint, light fixtures and drywall.

How can we help?

We will have a few workdays throughout the project for people to help with things like: carpet removal, scraping windows, light cleaning, ceiling tile replacement, and assembling/moving furniture.

Why are we collecting a special offering on November 9th?

In order to complete the project in a timely manner we need to write large checks to contractors and sub contractors in November. We need to collect as much as possible up front to make sure we are on time and have ample reserves as the project progresses.

What if we raise more than $100,000?

If we collect more than the necessary $100,000 we will communicate to the church that we’ve reached our goal. There are additional upgrades we can make to the ministry spaces and other parts of our lobby that we’ve put off for years including: a larger room for Life/Track, offices for staff, acoustical treatments and more. If people would like to continue to give over and above the necessary project total these items would be the next project additions.
